Illustration Friday - Zoom

I confess this is not new, but I find it suitable for this week's topic on IF. It's a little oil on canvas. I wanted to pin-point one of my remembrances: the sand pool in my kindergarten was always full of these gold bugs and I spent hours watching their changing colors. I find them really beautiful, as many other insects.
So ZOOM in this sense: sometimes beauty can be discovered even in the smallest things, in things that we would normally dismiss as ugly. I'm not particularly fond of insects, but some of them (if not all of them) are really works of art. I always keep a magnifying glass at hand, sometimes it is worth the trouble.

I love your beetle - I've been painting my own lately so I can appreciate the detail in the legs you've painted - gorgeous!

This is really beautiful! Great colors! I sure do appreciate the idea too, of finding beauty in the smallest things.
